8-week Mindfulness-Based Emotional Balance (MBEB) Course

Dr. Michelle held an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Emotional Balance (MBEB) Course for social work staff at the HKSKH Lady Maclehose Centre in 2018.

MBEB is an empirically-supported 8-week psycho-educational group program that teaches mindfulness meditation and emotion training. Created by Senior Teacher of The Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education, Stanford University School of Medicine, and Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher, Margaret Cullen, in 2007, MBEB adds key emotion components, including tools for emotional awareness, regulation and enhancement, to the basic Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR, Kabat-Zinn, 1990) curriculum. This created an intervention that cultivates greater emotional ease and well-being while also training in the fundamentals of mindfulness (see Cullen & Brito Pons, 2015).
